I've accidentally deleted the contents of a large (and important!) forum. How, and what, do I need to restore from backup? Thanks very much!

From the backup, restore the vars_forums.cgi file, as well as the Forum# directory for the deleted forum. Set wide permissions on the Forum# directory and its contents, then enter the control panel to make sure the forum exists and the settings are right. Afterwards, run all of the maintenance functions.

And in the future... be careful what you delete. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

Oh, and you should probably upgrade to 6.7.2 afterward <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

Thanks guys. All is well. It turned out to be a bug of some kind (I ended up starting a support ticket).

I moved one topic from forum A to forum B, and the contents of forum A disappeared. Very Scary.

I was able to restore it, but tech support was bewildered, as was I.
