You should be able to accomplish this using the Import/Export facility found in 6.7.x. I see that you are running 6.5.0, so you would need to upgrade in order to have the import/export facility.

When you export, where does it export to? I did not see an option to select a location.

Hi
I'm just been reading about imports and exports in another thread.

I have a concern - which to me, appears to be quite a serious one.

If you use import/export to backup your member data - YOU MUST delete this file afterwards.

Am I stating the obvious?

Sorry if I am, it's just that anyone with any knowledge of the UBB file structure (or indeed, anyone using this forum) will be able to read a text file that contains usernames and passwords.

It's not protected, right?

Correct, files stored in plain text (and no additional permissions to stop users from reading it) are open to the world; assuming that the world knows where the file is.

Hence, why you are supposed to delete the file(s) when not being actively used for an import/export (which is the only reason why there should be files in the import directory in the first place).

I only say this because not everyone is aware that the file should be there only during this procedure.
(I don't think it's in the admin manual to delete the files.)

Surely, if it is not immediately apparent to me (and granted I may not be the most intelligent of people...) then it may not be immediately apparent to others.

They may (for instance) carry out the procedure - download the files - and then not even give a second thought to deleting the files from the server.

I'm not looking to cause trouble mate, I just want to help people who may leave themselves in a vulnerable position.
