I've created the Content Island and inserted the code into the body of an html page, but nothing comes up. I can go to the actual url of the island and the content is there, I just can't get it into the webpage itself. If I use the js code, it works fine, but I'd like to have full css control over the output. The test page is at: http://216.247.205.226/islandstest.htm What have I done right/wrong/other? Thanks, elz

It works fine for me; there is one post in forum2 and that subject is linked on your "test" page.

Right, the one you see is the Unstyled Javascript format. The one below, listed as Unstyled HTML as an include file doesn't show up.
If I want to control the css of this, can I use the js version?
If I can't then how would I get the Unstyled HTML as an include file version to show up?

Ahh, i looked at the source and found your missfortune, SSI includes only work on pages with the SSI include option set through apache, this is generally only allowed for the ".shtml" extention whereas you're using ".htm"

ahhhh... if only i really knew what that meant thats ok though.
maybe someone can point me in the right direction since I don't have a map
If I wanted to display the subject line of the last post in a specific forum somewhere on my website and control the look of it, what would I do?
Is there a tutorial somewhere that I've missed that has all this info in it?

Try the "Unstyled HTML as a Javascript file" option, which is what you're looking for.
There's a link to the left of the option that goes to a (somewhat technical) description of the CSS classes expected.

Yup! Now I've inserted that css into the Header insert and the js into the Header HTML and it's thrown the whole page off a bit. Not knowing css that well, I'm wondering if I've done something wrong or still need some command to make it NOT do that. If anyone could now look at http://216.247.205.226/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi? Maybe they could point me in the right direction.

I don't see a Content Island on that page, though it wouldn't surprise me to hear that the layout might have become skewed, depending on where you actually ended up putting the island.

The text of ' We will be closed between Dec 24th @ Noon and will reopen Jan 3rd. ' is the Island.
Any ideas as to how to move everything back to the default positions while still keeping that Island in the same place?
