Version 6.7.2
Is there any way to prevent members from changing their birthday once they have registered?
And/or, can I change the rules, and require an entry in the birthday field and the location field in the profiles of existing members, which they must complete before they "agree" to the rule changes?
Thanks.
Hal

Also...
I have COPPA registration turned on with a minimum of 13. Obviously this requires a birth date input upon registration. Does this also override the "Show and Require" option at the profile settings in the Control Panel? I have tried setting the birthday to "Show and Require" but it has no effect in bolding the "Birthday" field which it should, to indicate a required field.

The initial age check will override the Show&Require setting in the control panel. If you set it to hidden/disabled, the field will never appear to the user, while the initial birth date will still be recorded.
(While the age check is enabled, the brithdate field should be replaced by static text showing the already gathered date.)

Thank you, Charles. That was my expectation.
I do not want to hide birthdays, so I labor under the assumption that the user will indeed be able to change their birthday once they are registered.
Another question:
Is there any way to turn off the "allow others to see my birthday" or permanently set it to "checked"? I want birthdays to be displayed in the individual profiles.
Thanks
Hal

Not without editing the templates or code. Do note that birthdays can be considered important and personally private information by some, and by forcing the birthday to be shown, you may end up turning away or angering users.
