We can't help you without a link to your control panel? <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I tried to set your paths and URLs, but you do not have Admin5.cgi in your Members directory. Upload Admin5.cgi (from the Members directory in the zip file) and a blank index.html to your Members directory. Set the directory and Admin5.cgi to 777 permissions. Be sure to uplod in ascii mode. Post back here when done.

I was able to set your general settings successfully. Are there any other problems you are having?

Hi there.
I had a look at your control panel, and I guess that you should read what the ubb-guru SWFan says at the 4'th post, about 777 at this site
http://www.scriptkeeper.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/006961.html

Be sure to use wsftp.com to upload. In advanced setting you can change between ascii and binary. Rightclick Admin5.cgi and choose unix 777

I'm a newbie to ubb but these guys here teach me fast. RightClick.

After you solved that problem, can you tell me what you changed the username and password to... thanks! I really need to know that.

I didn't change them to anything. I used the default Admin5 & 4tugboat userid/password combo that comes with the UBB zip and is outlined in the installation instructions at step 12.

I am having another problem now.

When I click on style settings, it comes to this where I have to set the colors and all. After that I put in Admin5/4tugboat and than it said that 404 Error File Not Found. I keep having that problem.

This stuff is too complicated for me so is there a way you can perform all the steps for me? Than after you perform all the steps, I can edit everything later as I want it.

Is that ok with you?

Your URL's in general settings were not correct. Either I missed it the first pass through, or they got changed somehow.

You should be able to proceed with no further problems.

The Absolute links are back to the way they were in default. Can you just tell me the absolute paths so that I can just type them in each time i go into general settings. The reset them back to they were when I change it!

Okay, first your paths are still fine, there is nothing you need to change.

Second, I just noticed you're only installing 5.47. Why, when the latest version is 5.47a?

i'll was going to get it. but what happened was that someone hacked my email address that it was registered at and I don't have the licence number. It was stored in one of the emails. Somebody hacked my mail.

And now I don't feel like spending another 200 bucks for the ubb that i already have.

so what's the difference between 5.47 and 5.47a?

That's ok, Brett Harris will be able to verify if you leagally have a license or not. He's been notified and is looking into it.

The differnece between the two is 5.47 has a security hole that could bring down your system if someone exploits it.

And i'm removing your url from this thread so that no one visits it and gets offended by the racist propaganda you have going there.
