i recently renamed all my forums and now want to delete all the posts in the whole ubb. how do i do this because doing it manually won't work since the forum names were changed. is there a mass delete option in it?

You can delete all posts per forum by pruning with a date of "-1".

ok, scratch that. how do i just delete categories and forums. again forgive my 'newbieness'

You can delete categories via the categories control panel area.

You can not delete forums in UBB5. You would need to upgrade to UBB6.
