Many posts on our site reference numeric data that is a index to a technical printed code book and it has been brought up that if you just search for "300.22(C)(2)" no results but if you search for "satisfying 300.22(C)(2)" you get a direct hit.
I currently have threads 7.2.2 ( wow another numeric string).
Is there a way to search for them?
Is a period supposed to count as a character? Because if it does. searching here for 7.2.2 exceeds the default 4 characters but no results are displayed.

The periods aren't counting as characters. Unfortunately with the full text engine we are using right now it's pretty limiting. Next version I'm going to have to add an option to use the old style search engine to allow for this.

Is that a hint on the next release?

The new (old) search option in version 7.5. Works great for numeric search strings.
Makes me a very very very very happy camper.
Thank you Rick
