Leap to Threads is indeed a challenge!
Here is my latest problem, and I hope there is a fix! <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
OK... how to explain so you understand.
On Classic, if someone tried to register, and we were suspicious of them (that they were old banned members trying to get on again) we disabled their ability to post, and locked their profile. Thus, leaving them searchable on the board so they couldn't register again under that e mail address.
These people imported to Threads
with the ability to post, and of course, there is no ability to lock their profiles. When these people are imported to Threads, they become ACTIVE and can post. Their profile is essentially unlocked by the import.
I would like to work in classic, today, so that when we do the final import, they will transfer to the banned list. How to do that?
For instance, "member x" had their ability to post taken away on Classic. Their profile is locked. Their ability to post is "no". Somehow, they imported to Threads as approved users, with the ability to post!
Currently, for a fix, what we are trying to do is to do an extended search on Classic of all people with no posting ability. Unfortunately, there is no search for "disabled profiles" so we are out of luck there, I believe.
We have security breach here!
How am I going to go through Classic and disable all 204 people who do not have the ability to post? Manually? But, even if they are disabled, they transfer as regular users! I cannot figure out what criteria is set in Classic, that transports members to Threads and puts them in the Threads "Banned list". Does anyone know?
I'd go through and mass delete all these users, if I knew that they would import as banned, but I highly doubt that, and don't want to lose their records, totally. I'm afraid that is what might happen.
It's a good thing we keep an Excel spreadsheet on these folks, but I'd hate to have to rely on that.
I need to know SOON, so I can get to work!! The final import is tonight. If I open with tons of people who are troublesome, and they can post again, I'm in for a major nightmare of editing and disabling. Also, I have some people with locked profiles. (they kept putting inappropriate language, etc in their profile) Not only is there no way to search them out on classic, but that also does not import, nor does it seem an option, on Threads..
Can anyone help me?
