Each CustomVectors laptop is prepared by hand, one at a time. I personally clean, configure, inspect, and test the system before it is packaged for shipment.

I genuinely enjoy preparing these laptops and making Linux easier to get started with, especially for someone who may be trying it for the first time.

You do not need to install Ubuntu yourself or figure out how to convert a Chromebook. Ubuntu is already installed and configured, and the laptop is tested before shipment.

This Ubuntu kit uses a genuine 64GB SanDisk Ultra Fit as the laptop's primary operating-system drive, giving Ubuntu, applications, updates, downloads, and your own files much more usable space than the Chromebook's small original internal storage alone.

Ubuntu, installed applications, updates, downloads, and normal system files run directly from this drive. I use a quality SanDisk-branded drive rather than an inexpensive generic flash drive. Its low-profile design allows it to stay installed without a large USB drive sticking far out from the side of the laptop. The SanDisk is part of the computer's normal setup and should remain plugged in while you are using the laptop. More Room for Ubuntu & Your Files ✓ 64GB primary Ubuntu system drive for the operating system, applications, and updates ✓ More room for downloads, documents, programs, and personal files ✓ Genuine low-profile SanDisk Ultra Fit included with every laptop ✓ Original internal Chromebook storage also repurposed rather than being left unused ✓ Brand-new charger included with every current laptop ✓ Ubuntu 24.04.5 LTS installed and configured ✓ Each laptop cleaned, prepared by hand, and individually tested before shipment New to Ubuntu or Linux? That's Completely Okay =) You do not need to install the operating system yourself before you can begin exploring Ubuntu. Ubuntu is already installed, configured, and tested. Once you receive the laptop, you can connect to Wi-Fi, explore the desktop, browse the web, work with files, learn the Terminal, install additional software, and become familiar with Linux at your own pace. If something is unfamiliar or you have a basic question about the laptop or setup, you are always welcome to send me a message. What Is Ubuntu? Ubuntu is one of the most widely used Linux distributions and is designed for desktop computing, learning, development, servers, open-source software, and many other uses. It provides a modern graphical desktop while still giving you access to the Linux Terminal, software repositories, development tools, and the flexibility of an open-source operating system. What Does "LTS" Mean? LTS stands for Long-Term Support. Ubuntu LTS releases are designed to remain supported for an extended period, making them a good choice for someone who wants a stable Linux installation rather than frequently changing to short-term releases. What Can I Use It For? ✓ Learning Linux without installing it yourself
✓ Web browsing and email
✓ Documents and lightweight everyday computing
✓ Learning Terminal commands and Linux administration
✓ Basic programming and coding practice
✓ School, hobby, or technical-learning projects
✓ Experimenting with open-source software
✓ Learning Ubuntu for future desktop or server use
✓ A small secondary or travel computer This is a compact, affordable system designed for lightweight everyday use and learning rather than demanding gaming, heavy video editing, or other high-performance workloads. ✓ Wi-Fi and USB ports

Actual runtime will vary depending on battery age, screen brightness, Wi-Fi use, workload, and other usage conditions. Condition The current production stock consists of great-condition Dell Chromebook 3180 laptops with 4GB RAM. These are pre-owned laptops, so light cosmetic wear such as small scratches, scuffs, plastic wear, or other normal signs of previous use may still be present. Every laptop is fully functional, cleaned, inspected, prepared by hand, and tested before shipment. I do not ship a laptop that I would not personally feel comfortable using myself. Exact cosmetic appearance may vary slightly from the representative photos.
