Offered here is a vintage Commodore 64C personal computer accompanied by its original retail box, multiple original manuals and guides, fitted Commodore-branded dust cover, original power supply, and the cables and paperwork shown in the photographs.

This is the later low-profile version of the legendary Commodore 64, retaining the original C64 architecture and software compatibility in Commodore’s redesigned case.

The computer was purchased several years ago as a reportedly working system and has remained stored since that time. We have not powered it on or recently tested it, so its current operating condition is unknown. It is being sold strictly as-is as a vintage collectible, restoration project, or starting point for a complete C64 setup.

The computer itself looks and feels quite clean, the case presents nicely, and the fitted brown Commodore dust cover is in especially attractive condition. The core of a very appealing vintage Commodore system is here—but this is not a complete, ready-to-use setup.

🧾 Important Note About the Refurbishment Paperwork

A prior-owner inspection and refurbishment sheet was found with this computer and is included in the sale. The sheet describes extensive cleaning, replacement of a motherboard after a RAM failure, diagnostic testing, and an extended power-on test.

However, the serial number printed on that sheet—HB41105037E—does not match the serial number on this computer, which is CA1587181.

We therefore cannot verify that the documented work was performed on this exact computer. The paper may have been placed with the wrong system, or components may have been changed at some point, but we simply do not know. It is included exactly as found for historical context only.

No representation or guarantee is being made that this particular computer received the repairs or testing described on that sheet.

⚠️ Important Power Supply Warning

The original Commodore power supply is included, but it has not been tested and should not be relied upon for operating this computer.

Original Commodore 64 power supplies are now several decades old and can fail in a manner that sends excessive voltage to the computer, potentially damaging its internal components. A handwritten note found with the system also recommends replacing the original supply.

The buyer should obtain a properly designed modern replacement power supply with voltage regulation and over-voltage protection before attempting to power on the computer. The included original supply is best considered a vintage accessory for completeness or display.

🔧 What You Will Need

To turn this into an operational Commodore 64 system, the buyer will need appropriate compatible equipment, potentially including:

• A known-good modern Commodore 64 power supply
• A compatible monitor, television, or modern video adapter
• A verified video cable
• A Commodore-compatible disk drive, cartridge, or modern storage solution
• Software
• A joystick or mouse for programs that require one

The included A/V cable has not been tested. No disk drive, software, storage device, display, or controller is included.

Anyone familiar with vintage Commodore systems will already understand the possibilities. For a new owner, expect this to be a project rather than a plug-and-play modern computer.

🖥️ Computer Condition

The Commodore 64C itself is in clean and attractive overall cosmetic condition for its age.

• The case presents well with normal vintage marks and discoloration.
• The keyboard and key legends are generally clean and readable.
• Some individual keys show minor cosmetic wear, including visible wear on the H key.
• The exterior ports and connectors have not been individually inspected or tested.

📦 Original Box and Documentation Condition

The original retail box is included but is in heavily worn vintage condition. It shows substantial age, staining, creasing, torn and softened edges, old tape or label residue, surface wear, and deterioration from long-term storage.

The box is valuable as part of the package, but it is not collector-grade packaging.

The manuals and paperwork show normal age, handling wear, discoloration, marks, and edge wear. Please examine the photographs carefully for their exact condition.

⚠️ Testing and Sale Terms

This Commodore 64C has not been recently powered on or tested.

We do not know whether it currently powers on, produces video or sound, accepts keyboard input, or communicates correctly through its cartridge, serial, cassette, user, control, RF, or video ports. No internal inspection has been performed by us.

Although we recall purchasing it as a working computer, too much time has passed for that recollection to constitute a current operating guarantee.

It is therefore being sold as-is, with no warranty expressed or implied, subject to applicable policies. The buyer should assume that inspection, servicing, or repair may be required. Please purchase it as a vintage collectible or restoration project—not as a recently tested, guaranteed-working computer.

📦 Shipping and Packaging

The computer will be protected against movement and impact, with particular attention paid to the keyboard, case, and exposed connectors.

The heavily worn original retail box will not be used as the shipping carton. The complete package will be carefully cushioned and placed inside a separate sturdy outer shipping box.
