TESTING AND FUNCTIONAL CONDITION:
The laptop powers on using its AC adapter. Its built-in display produces a readable image, and the startup screen identifies the Pentium MMX 166 MHz processor and reports successful conventional and extended memory checks.
The system then displays:
"System CMOS checksum bad - run SETUP"
It stops at the prompt requesting F1 to resume or F2 to enter Setup.
The laptop does not respond to either F1 or F2 and cannot proceed beyond this screen.
The cause of the problem has not been diagnosed. The CMOS error could be related to a depleted internal backup battery, but other faults are possible.
The hard drive, operating system, floppy drive, battery, and other hardware functions have not been verified.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
The laptop is physically complete in appearance, with visible dust, keyboard wear, and age-related cosmetic marks. Please examine the photographs carefully.
