Although the original rear label identifies the system as a Rival 286 Plus, the computer has been upgraded with an Intel 386 processor and Arche Technologies 386 BIOS dated 1989.
Visible features include:
• Intel 386 processor
• 3,712 KB reported memory
• Everex Viewpoint VGA graphics card
• Dual Floppy 5.25 inch floppy drive/ 3.5 inch floppy drive
• Installed hard drive configured as approximately 504 MB
• MS DOS installed and booting from the hard drive
• Windows directory present on the hard drive
• Serial, parallel, and VGA connections
• Multiple internal expansion cards
• Heavy duty desktop chassis
• Serial number R12 100731
The computer powered on normally during testing, completed its extended memory test, and reached the DOS prompt. The internal photographs show the motherboard, memory, expansion cards, drives, cabling, and power supply.
This is an uncommon late 1980s Arche system with an interesting factory chassis and later 386 configuration. It would make a strong addition to a vintage computer collection or a suitable platform for period DOS software.
Only the computer itself is included. Monitor, keyboard, cables, disks, and other accessories are not included unless specifically shown as included.
Because of the age of the equipment, it is sold as a vintage computer with only the functions described above guaranteed at the time of listing. Additional servicing may eventually be required.
