Hmm, we do try to undo all the markup tags when importing so we get back to the original post before markup was added. Looks like there are a few issues left I need to work on. Thanks for the info.
Basically, in version 7 we store 2 copies of the post, one that is marked up for display purposes, and 1 that is exactly the way the user entered it. This allows for more flexibility in the markup tags like the syntax highlighting.
