Yeah it was the one it warns about, step 4, i have my php.ini timeout set to severel 1000 temporarily. which prevented the execution timeout error, but instead after about 3 ir 4 mins i would get a cgi timeout error.
i actually added a couple of extra echos into the script so it would start outputting to the browser quicker, and i rebooted my server kicking off all the users and got it to run, i think. i never got the line saying completed goto step 5. iinstead i got something that looked roughly lke this. im just typping this not copying but its similar

Then it just stopped, so i changed the url to step5 and carried on and it seemed ok.
I have about 2500 users, 120k posts.
Im currently hacking the import script up at the moment. It seems all my users have been imported with there display name set to there login name?
