Based on the notes in this ticket, nothing was changed on our end since the ticket was opened.
I attempted to follow your the logic behind the login page code with the assistance of Firebug and the code on your server and it appears that after you click on the 'Proceed' button confirming that the user accepts the rules, that there are some calls to some outside websites. One website in particular (
http://www.stopforumspam.com/) appears to detect if the user is a spammer prior to letting them register and proceed on to the next page to input their registration information.
I have found this forum posting on their site --
http://www.stopforumspam.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=2820 It appears as if they have been experiencing some site issues during the past 24 hours. It's possible that if that site was offline while you were attempting to register a new user, that you may have received some of the errors that you saw yesterday.
