IMO,
Someday there should be a direct communication vehicle associated with the welcome message at the very least with something on the board.
Why,
Because you have a new member that is not familiar with how the board works and may have some login issues and does not know as yet how to communicate with the board.
Call it hand holding with a noob.
Even if it simply to redirect them to the contact us link method instead of allowing them to reply to a message that goes nowhere.
