Also you can have say wordpress to replace you front pages and link to the forums.
They would have separate logins for each platform. Unless you can figure out how to modify the coding to share logins between ubb and wordpress.
There are a lot of changes from the version of ubb you are using to the current version and ubbdev is using the beta release.
