I don't believe you can email directly to private forum members in 6 either, although I believe the "Search by" for private forums does work in 6.

You mean I can do a search for users who only have access to a certain forum... and then email them normally...

Yes.

I ran a "Search by Private Forum" on an Infopop test board and it worked properly.

You'd then have to email them manually, however; you can't feed the list directly into the UBB's mail engine, or even get the UBB to generate that email list manually - only the list of users..
