After upgrading to 6.6, I can no longer view member passwords nor even see the admin passwords. Is this a bug - or am I missing something?

Designed behavior.

How do I work around it? Is there a workaround? Why wasn't this in the release notes?

I can't answer why it wasn't in the release notes, as I'm not an Infopop employee.

To workaround this, you either need to view the raw member record or hack your Control Panel Template to display the password.

Then how do you know if this is by design or a bug?

Because he's on the private beta team.

We removed password visibility for a number of reasons, including user privacy/security.

For now, you will need to look at the member profile file, or hack visibility back in. IIRC, I just ended up commenting out the code.

This will be mostly a moot point when we begin encrypting passwords on disk in a future release via a one-way hash.

Then why was it not in the release notes? How do I uninstall the upgrade without losing any data? I don't see any support documents for this. If there is a way to put that back in by uncommenting the code - where is iTravis

Regarding future releases. What do you mean a moot point? We _need_ to be able to see our users passwords - period. By takng that away you have rendered our four bulletin board's useless for the admins that synchroniz all of the passwords.

So is this feature going to be put back in a future release?

We have four support contracts for our four bulletin boards and this is a MUST feature. So now that you have taken it away, do I get my money back?

How can you guys take away a feature a) without warning, b) without some new way to accomplish the same task. You have virutally brought the admininstration between these UBBs and aour other websites and features to its knees. THANKS!

When is someone going to address my problem?? I need to either A) uninstall and get a refund on my contracts, or B) get a fix.

You can add this feature back by editing cp2_editprofile.pl around like 375 it is commented out. Keep in mind, that it will be reset to default if you upgrade your boards.

Also, if you need support from Infopop, they require you to upload stock scripts.
