You have a couple possible solutions, most likely its a bad Upgrade .. one is to start over, the other is to try a System File Checker and make sure corrupted file isnt present. While that might seem soo easy you never know. I know you just did this install but upgrades from like "me" to "xp" have alot of issues .. really upgrades have issues from the start. I always do a clean install.
This file checking will take a bit, depending on the speed of your system from a couple minutes to 20. Then of course if you have a bad file it will prompt you to replace it. If you dont have a bad file after running this .. I would try removing the IE 6 stuff from the registery and do a clean install of IE6
I would like to sit and tell you how but it would be pages long, so my best suggestion is to hit
www.google.com and type in corrupted IE6 there you should find instructions to start. This could also be something else but first i would check to see if theirs anyfiles bad. The maybe uninstall the updated ms java machine or install (maybe again) the sun java machine update as well. Good luck with things.
