I can only post topic subjects when I create a topic island. I thought I could create an island that had full messages. Could it be because registration is required to enter the board?

No, there currently isn't a content island that contains full messages. It would have to be a modification to the code.

- New posts in one or all forums
- New topics in one or all forums

No matter which one I select, they look the same. I presumed topics was the 'subject' and posts was the full message.

topics are topics (each TOPIC), posts are posts (each POST TO A TOPIC)

yes, topics are the latest started topics.

posts are the latest posts, no matter how old the topic - we have topics from years ago still being posted to that make this CI

Is there a hack that might let content island display the content of, say, the last few posts to the last few topics? That would make for an interesting teaser.

With all of the above in mind, is there some way of making some of the forums of a private board (requires registration and approval) public? Using UBB.classic™ 6.7.2, we have two forums we would like to open to public viewing (not posting) but currently the board is private and we want to keep the other 20 forums members only.

Can this be done from control panel, or with a hack?
