It would be great if the User List found when using the "Show / Edit Users" option in the Admin Control Panel actually seperated the names into different sections - When using the ALL USERS option. For example, keep them in alphabetical order, just add a header for each letter so at the top and bottom of the list you can have anchor links to take you to specific letters. Like this:
A - B - C - D - E - F - G - H - I - J - K - L - M - N - O - P - Q - R - S - T - U - V - W - X - Y - Z
A (have an anchor here for all of the A's) --- Alice Andy Arbor etc.
B --- Barney Bill Boris
C --- Carl Chris Cindy
Etc.
This way when you have several thousand users you can more easily jump to the section of ther list you need. I understand that you can jump to usernames using the drop down alphabetical list, but it would be convenient to have the option above when working with a great many usernames.
Also, it would be great if the the drop down list used with the "Show / Edit Users" option would actually list All Users first rather than 0-9. Having All Users at the bottom of the list is a pain as I use it far more often than 0-9 (which I do not think I've ever used). Thanks for listening!
Regarding the "All Users" on top of the drop list, here's how that can be done: In selectusers.pl simply move this line <pre> print "<option value=\"All Users\">All Users</option>\n";</pre>
above this one <pre> print "<option>0-9</option>";</pre>
and it will do what you wanted for the Show/Edit Users part - however the A - B - C etc. would take more changes. What I would welcome would be the option to list the newest users (e.g. those that joined within the last 1/2/5 days), and to show the user title and groups in the listing.

That's pretty much how I was going to set it up... search for ____ sorted by ____, always returning the fields that are there currently... so far, what I'm planning is: search for All Users (default) A B . . Z 0-9 Username Real Username domain e-mail date registered (greater than...) date registered (less than...) last on (greater than...) Total Posts (descending) (or less than x??) Total Posts (ascending) (or greater than x??)
and sort by: Username (default) # of posts (descending) # of posts (ascending) date registered (descending) date registered (ascending) last on (descending) last on (ascending)
both a user an admin! actually my initial interest was from a user POV, but I found that I would also lke to search (as an example) how many members of my board selected argentina as their country....
Why not make a search box instead (does this already exist elsewhere?) ... so you could type for example "a*" to see all the A's.. etc... that would be brilliant in many cases..
Also.. when sending private messages.. being able to "check names" as in Outlook Express would be nice... Effectively an address book... which would take the TO field and find the closest match.. highlight it and let you click ok or select another name (perhaps a pop-up window?)
