Hi,

I am a Member at Michigan Jeepers and they are using the UUB.threads 6.5b4 version on their board. I posed this question and Jeremy steered me to your site to offer it up as a future suggestion/feature, so here goes: When I toggle a thread as a favorite and elect to receive Email notification of a new post, is there a way to receive all new post notifications except those I post??? <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Just wondered if this is of concern to anyone else? I searched and found that an older version used to allow a Parent Notification without a Favorite Toggle, thus eliminating the need to subscribe to a Favorite Thread, but as I am not a Moderator or Administrator and I am also not a Programer, by any strech of the imagination, I have no experience with any version of this type of software.

I'm one of the moderators of the official german AMD Forum www.athlon.de

We recently updated to 6.4.2 and now receive more and more critical voices about the email-notification system.
Before the update, once you tagged a thread for email-notification, you received all answers to this topic by email. Now, you have to favorise a topic to receive any mail, which is not really convenient for our users. Even though we have no chance to fix that by our administration-tools.

Now, let's see if Infopop is able to offer us any solution.

AMD Gemany and 13.000 users in Germany's largest internet forum would be really amazed if Infopop would get in charge of the action with that.

Actually there's some incorrect information posted here about current functionality. The current functionality does allow you to receive email notifications to ALL replies

Just to clarify the differences:

Old Way:
- Only replies to specific posts, not to the whole topic
- Had to reply to the post to subscribe
- No way to unsubscribe from the notification

New Way:
- Notification for all replies to the topic
- Can add it to favorites when posting or add without posting
- To stop receiving notification simply remove from favorites.

Not sure how the new way would be more limiting than the old way. The biggest problem with the old way is that people wanted notifications for the whole topic - but many people just hit reply to the last reply - and the notifications only got sent if you replied to that specific post.
If you enable the notification in your email prefs, you still only need to check the box when you post to recieve replies. <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Same as before. Except now you'll get replies to all topics.
