There are two primary modes to transfer a file.ASCII
is used for text-type files, while Binary
are used for images etc.
You can send text-files with Binary also, and its manly ok, but cgi-files dont like that.
The difference is about whats done to the file in order to transfer it. If you transer a file with Binary mode, the transer gets a "tag" thats sticks to the end of the file. CGI realy dont like this, and because of it the CGI-files transfered with Binary mode, doesent work at all.
If you send a file with your browser, you transer with Binary. So dont upload with your brower. Download a FTP-client. Go to http://www.tucows.com
and download one. Why not WS-FTP, wich is good: http://tucows.arctic.net/adnload/425_29571.html
