I have had my message board installed for years. All of a sudden I go there this morning and get a software error message.

The link to my board is:

http://www.keithurbanfans.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi

Can anyone help??

I am getting this message:

Software error:
Can't open '/home/www/keithurbanfans.com/ubb/cache-593DBMWX/lock/global.cgi'. The exact error returned by the operating system is: Read-only file system
For help, please send mail to the webmaster (root@localhost), giving this error message and the time and date of the error

the operating is telling you that it's a read-only file system, and the /ubb/cache-593DBMWX directory needs to be writeable (as does its contents). if you're running UNIX, make the directory writeable (CHMOD to 777 or 666 should do it). if you're running NT, contact your host and ask to do the same.

You need to contact your webhost and provide them with the following error:

The exact error returned by the operating system is: Read-only file system

*Edit*: Guess Kate and I had the same thought <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />

I changed the permissions of that directory to 777 and the contents inside and still nothing.

Then you will need to contact your webhost. That is a problem on their side.
