I moved my websites from my own Windows server to a hosted Unix box. I am trying to figure out how to set up the paths to get my UBB working.
Can't locate c:/abc/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/variables/vars_display.cgi in @INC (@INC contains: ./Modules . /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.6/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl) at ultimatebb.cgi line 129.
With Windows I would use c:... or D:... for my paths. I have no Unix knowledge. What should I use for my paths?
Thanks

you'd edit vars_config.cgi
Your paths would vary, bt it should be what your ftp client displays when you browse to your space

Thanks Gizmo. I guess where I am really confused is what format to put it in.
C:abcforums \abcforums etc.
What format is *nix looking for in the vars_config

c: specifies the drive, it's irrelevant to linux. \ specifies file share, it's also irrelevant and unsupported.
In linux the path will be something like: /home/mysite/public/cgi-bin/

Here's the contents of my file:
%vars_config = ( q~AdminLogging~ => q~YES~, q~BBName~ => q~Almost Bassmaster Classic Chat~, q~CGIPath~ => q~/public_html/cgi-bin/ubbcgi~, q~CGIURL~ => q~http://www.almostbassmasters.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi~, q~Cookie_Number~ => q~2452213.2137~, q~EnableAccel~ => q~NO~, q~MembersPath~ => q~/public_html/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/Members~, q~NonCGIPath~ => q~/public_html/ubb~, q~NonCGIURL~ => q~http://www.almostbassmasters.com/ubb~, q~VariablesPath~ => q~/public_html/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/variables~, q~cache_pw~ => q~VM9DYQV2~, ); 1;
Here's the FTP path when I drill down to my vars_config file: /public_html/cgi-bin/ubbcgi
I am still getting an error:
Can't locate /public_html/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/variables/vars_display.cgi in @INC (@INC contains: ./Modules . /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.6/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6/i686-linux /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.6 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0 /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl) at ultimatebb.cgi line 129.

in your /help folder you have a file called ubbclassic_test.cgi - it'll help you find your paths and make sure your permissions are set correctly.

The test file helped and I have the forums up and running. When I try to access my control panel at: http://www.almostbassmasters.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/cp.cgi I get a 5000 Internal Server error message: The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, []webmaster@almostbassmasters.com[/] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. I verified that the permissions on cp.cgi are 755.

Cancel last request. I resent cp.cgi over to the server and it is working now.
Thanks for all the help.
