I'm having almost exactly the same problem mentioned in this topic here (sorry couldn't add to - it's closed)
https://www.ubbcentral.com/ubb/ultimatebb.php/topic/10/2082.html#000000

I'm also in the UK and since an upgrade I'm also seeing my posts revert to -1 hour of local time although my server is in the USA and is actually -8 hours. When I set the offset to +1 it works beautifully and then reverts the next day. If I set the off-set the way it was set on 6.3 (i.e. to 8 hours) it tells me it's local time +7. I'm baffled. Have tried logging out and in again. no change.
Have just upgraded to 6.6.2 - any clues please?
Is there somewhere I should be checking which time zone is set? if so I haven't done that ...

the + or - number is off of server time, not GMT

thanks Al - I know. So - it shouldn't work when I offset the server time by +1 hour and get the correct UK time - when my server is actually 8 hours away in the USA. I say it shouldn't work - but it does temporarily.

So I still need help please ...

gah, time for math class already? <img src="https://www.ubbcentral.com/boards/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

The default time offset is just for users who have not chosen an offset in their profile.

The server is -8 GMT (West Coast US), and you're at GMT.

You should be setting your default offset to +8 if most of your members are in Britain. Then, in your profile, you should also have +8, because it's based off server time, not the offset.

If that doesn't help, reply saying what I missed and I'll try to help

Hi Al, Appreciate your time. What you're suggesting has worked perfectly on my forums since V4.3 - so I KNOW you're right. My problem is that since the upgrade to 6.6.2 - it simply isn't working for admins as I said if I do set it to +8 - which has always worked before ....

in other words a post at 9pm shows as 4am.

That's my problem.
PS all my users are Uk or mainland Europe

since 6.4 however, users have been allowed to choose their own time zones, so you're talking about a different offset. You set an offset in the cp, which only applies to those who haven't chosen their own time zone. You still need to go into your profile and enter "8" into the corresponding box

But when I do that it tells me it's GMT +7 when I post - i.e. it doesn't work!

Hi Al,
Sorry for delay in response I've been away this weekend - our board is a totally private one (htaccess). Don't worry if no-one else has had the problem I shall ask my UBB guru to take a look at it.
Many thanks for trying to help.

Worst Case, you could fill out a support ticket and grant Infopop Support access to take a look at the problem

Be sure to include information on how to get to the board past the .htaccess limitation.
