Hi (UBB version 6.7.1) I've just received this message from one of my users... I am constantly alerted that I have one unread private message and its always the same whenever I open it, like groundhog day ! I seem to recall having this problem once before and Charles ran some sort of utility to sort things out. Being as the board isn't supported any longer and I haven't yet moved to threads - is there a chance of getting hold of this 'utility' please

You can have the user try the "Delete All Cookies" link in their profile... maybe that'll help?
GangsterBB.NET (Ver. 7.6.1.1) PHP Version 5.6.40 / MySQL 5.7.23-23 (was 5.6.41-84.1) / Apache 2.4.54 2007 Content Rulez Contest - Hon Mention UBB.classic 6.7.2 - RIP

Unfortunately, that didn't work. Any other thoughts, anyone?

hmmm... have them check the time of the computer, is it so far off that it's messing up the cookies?
There was a utility for pm's, but the one I remember rebuilt them, didn't fix some ghosting on the notifications.

ok - my user neglected to tell me that he was getting error messages when he tried to delete the post! I've just logged in with his credentials and it turns out it was a simple 'permission denied' error - a quick chmod later and everything is fine... Sorry about that I'm just posting this for closure to the thread. Thanks for your help

I have an idea... We should force our users to take screenshots of the problem, that way we can see if what they're saying is th eentire picture...

I have the same issue with one user.
I can "become user" and see the problem as well.
I sent another message and read that.
Still blinking.
It's like a counter is off by one somewhere.
Perhaps if another user sent a message and then deleted that message in a thread before he read it, it would cause it?
There should be a Mark all read for PM's.
Any ideas how to fix?
