Our Threads installation died and we have no idea why. All we get is a blank page and can't get anything up. PHP is running and the database is there and seems OK. I've no idea what to do... can anyone offer any assistance?
Thanks

Are you getting any errors in your logs?
Do you have a link to your site?

It's been up running for about a month. The hosting company have glitches sometimes so I thought it a good time to do a backup. I closed the board in prep to do the backup and phut, that was it, zip zilch, no pages at all anywhere. The database looks ok and PHP is running OK on the server.
The hosting company don't make error logs available to clients:-(
I dunno what to do...

hmmm... not sure why they do not provide logs - are there any in your hosting CP?
Without at least a link it is hard to diagnose - but can you ping the site ok from a dos window (start -> run ->cmd -> ping yourdomain.tld) or run a traceroute to it (start -> run -> cmd -> tracert yourdomain.tld)
If these both work fine, then the site is responding.
Do you have logs set up within threads? Can you FTP in to the site?

I think I just fixed it! The config.php was zero bytes (don't know what happened there) so I rejigged that and it seems to be working. Hooray!
Thanks!

Well, having no config file could cause some problems...
GangsterBB.NET (Ver. 7.6.1.1) PHP Version 5.6.40 / MySQL 5.7.23-23 (was 5.6.41-84.1) / Apache 2.4.54 2007 Content Rulez Contest - Hon Mention UBB.classic 6.7.2 - RIP

Yes, but a zero byte file is not by accident. Curious how that happened especially if the board was already up and running.

agreed - but would a missing config file actually produce nothing?

Sadly the OP chose not to supply us a link, so it is all speculation.

agreed - but would a missing config file actually produce nothing? Considering your mysql connection information and most settings are contained in this file, it's entirely possible that it'd just show nothing of there was a blank config...
