I have trasnfered a v7 to another server. All the settings and database stuff works, but now when I try to re-enable the boards, I get a: ----------- Forbidden You don't have permission to access /forums/admin/doprimary.php on this server. Apache Server at www.sapaforums.org Port 80 ----------- error. I have access via FTP to this file and have double checked all of my installation permissions on all the folders, but I'm stumped. I can edit the configuration php file manually via FTP, but this, and a few other amdin functions give me this error and I cna't seem to track down the problem. Anyone have any ideas?

That really looks like a general file permission on that file. If you're on a linux box take a look at the permissions on that specific file. From that message it looks like it's set to 400 or something of that nature.

I don't have server access directly, but both the directory and file itself have 777 permissions when I check with my FTP client.
I can access other files in that same directory just fine through the control panel functions. Could there be a problem with one of the include files for that particular php file?

It looks like their apache server is blocking this and throwing a generic error. I looked in the error log and it's a generic sql injection error. I'm trying to get to the bottom of this with the hosting company since it's a shared hosting solution and I don't have access to the Apache setup.

How did you transfer the files? Did you tar them? If so, what did you use to create the archive? What flags did you pass to tar when creating the archive?
What this could be is that you created the archive and it's trying to recreate it with the user; thus the files in your webspace don't belong to your user account, they belong to the user account which created the files.

It's just about 4-5 of the admin scripts (doprimary, dofeatures, etc.) giving me this error, the rest work fine. I can edit styles, set the general display settings, portal settings, etc.
I transferred ubb.classic via tar file, threads 7.2 was uploaded from my pc via ftp and the import was done - that went fine.

If permissions are ok, then I'm wondering if this is something like mod_security where it's detecting a few keywords and just giving a total forbidden on the script? I worked on a site that had mod_security enabled and ended up with the same error about a month ago.

Possibly, I know the server blocked my ip for a while yesterday because I had entered the wrong info trying to sign in to ssh :smashpc:
