We just updated to 7.1 from 6.5.5.

I am receiving a lot of email bounces from users with the following message:

"Message is 8-Bit mime and server doesn't support it."

I assume the new software is trying to send out the message in an 8-Bit mime format. Is there an option for users or the admin to switch it to ASCII text or something else?

Thanks,
Fred

Currently you can change that by editing the libs/phpmailer/class.phpmailer.php script. Around line 49 you'll see where it has an option on the Encoding, with some comments above it on some of the options.

Thanks for the quick response Rick. I had not seen that before. I changed it to base64 and an AOL user just got a PM, so we will see if it works. I didn't get a PM I sent myself, which I did yesterday, but I'll still plug away at it.

Do you have any suggestions as to the content type most accepted?

Fred
