It'd be great if in addition to the left and right of columns, you could put islands above and below on your Forum List page. Is there a way to do that now? I'd like to put some ads either above or below the forums list (below the menu bar or above the footer bar).

I really wanted something like that recently. I ended up having to hard-code the portal template to get what I needed.

Hardcoding them into templates is currently the only option; I'm hoping that we get more in the future other than JUST the post island...
I'd like to see a secondary post island (one above the first post) as well as the current one (which is under the first post) to allow users to select which they want or if they want both...
I'd like to see one under the breadcrumb bar in the center column, and one above the footer bar in the center column. I'd think the under breadcrumb one would work as the secondary post column though hehe

I'd like an ad after each post on the portal.

After each? Sounds interesting but would violate a lot of ad programs (AdSense for example allows up to 3 ad's per page)

Because AdSense script can detect the occurrence of its banner , more than three will be blank. I added adsense code in showflat.tmpl (UBB6) , and it works fine.

Perhaps, different ones ! Also a violation; at least with "text based ad's"; google is really anal... Basically, if you show a text based ad that belongs to them on the page, you cannot display any others.
