I would like to see more SEO enhancements in one of the next major releases. The current spider friendly URLs have a few issues like the changing page parameter.
I think URLs more like ubbthreads/thread/my-sample-thread.html including adding automatically generated description and keywords meta tags would be much better.

After giving a lot of thought into the "keywords/title in a url" concept, I actually kind of like it; especially from a user perspective as it can be a lot easier to distinguish differant saved URLs; though one thing that's gotten to me is that SE's don't like duplicate content, not to mention if we're using the subject in a url theres not much to stop other topics from having the same keyword, so it should be something like:
ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/number/183930/page/1/subject.html
Then you're just having the keywords there as dummy data. I do miss having the "fake html" extension like what Classic had.

ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/number/183930/page/1/subject.html There is still the problem with the page parameter. “page” is actually not the page number of the thread page but of the forum thread list page where the thread is located.

For 7.2, I'm going to be removing the page parameter. Since it really depends on the user's profile settings what page # the actual post is on. So, this will be moved to being tracked in a session variable while you're browsing and won't be a part of the link.

If you just link to a post it will figure out what page it's on all on it's very own

Well I'm not sure what to vote for but please don't break current and historic post links - we have hundreds if not thousands of links to specific posts.
Thanks for reviewing this.
