I know we can select ignore a user,
but i would like to see that option available for moderators?

hang on dont shoot me....

It would be much better if a moderator could be ignored
outside there own forum of moderation.

I have a moderator who's keen and a little too negative for some members, and it would make people happier if they
only had to put up with his comments in the forums he moderates.

I know i can get rid of him, but the ignore him would
be better all round.

Just my thoughts.

p.s. (Tried it on Gizmo and Failed lol)

See, totally against it... Moderators are your staff, thus they're like demi admin's; thus your users NEED to listen to them because they have the admin's ear... By allowing them to be ignored would be just like ignoring an admin imo...

But what would happen when you needed to go on vacation and the forum didn't have a mod? or a mod had to be gone fo ra few days? are you going to place every mod you have on every forum?

IMO it's just impractical...

Your moderators are your staff, if users don't wnat to listen to them due to abuse, i think you may have more of a problem than users not obeying the rules lol... I think your mod needs to be taken down a few knotches.

Just bringing this discussion back up since one of my users requested the same thing. The mod in question only moderates less than half of my forums, but not General Discussion. That's where he can get opinionated more than some would like. laugh

I don't think it'd be a bad idea, like Mark suggested, to allow Mods to be ignored in forums that they don't moderate.

In addition, and perhaps more importantly, I'd like the Mod indicator and color turned OFF in those forums that Mods aren't moderating - because it give the wrong impression IMHO.

Ahhh i see the moderator name showing in colour
in a post now, i never noticed that.

I agree, it shouldn't work that way.

Well perhaps when Rick makes modifications to the underlying security in 7.3 then it will be easier or more granular to allow / dis-allow features for Moderators too.

Not sure that i'd use those words, people would assume that threads is insecure in which it's not...

Sorry, not my intent. Just mean that Rick wants to add features to allow more granular control.

No problem. Hopefully Rick does get time to work on it for 7.3

Is there a proposed list of updates like a Developer Road map ?

Yeh, it's the most popular requests in the feedback and suggestions forum... (the exact answer Rick gave me when I asked)

7.3 is slated for two main features that I'll be working on. Expanding the permission/group system, and a subscription feature, that will at least interface with paypal for starters.

Other things will be put in as well, but those will be the two majors.

Sounds great Rick. That alone sounds like a lot of coding work anyways.
