Just upgraded to gold license and will take the leap from my finely tuned and ever-purring 6.4.4 to the latest 7.x (probably go with 7.2 b5). Please guide me if you are able. I think once I get to something like 6.5.5 there is documentation in the member area - correct? thanks.

Yes, your first step will be to upgrade to 6.5.5. You can use these docs for that part of the upgrade. At that point, you'd install the latest version and then import your data into it. You can use this doc for that portion. We can also guide you on any particular questions you might have along the way.

Just feed back: Depending upon your abuilities you may want to just hang back another few days / week? 7.2b5 has not long been released, so the Final Version 7.2 Final can not be that far from release. You may want to wait until that before you begin the import? Then you wont have to deal with an upgrade at the same time. You can save your self any headaches buy just waiting for the latest final release. Its only my opinion that i thought you may want to think about. Hope that helps

Its only my opinion that i thought you may want to think about. Hmmm... do I care about Mark's opinion, or about his suggestions. Is that a mind trick? Good suggestion though Mark.

I've been running UBB.T7 for several months in production environments with no problems.
Also, if you don't feel comfortable with upgrading your forums you could hire a developer to do the work for you.

Hmmm, I was just about to do an upgrade from 7.11 when I decided to check in here first with a question (good things happen when one takes their meds ). I think I'll take MarkS's suggestion and wait it out even though Gizmo has carried his weight in gold around here. I gotta tell you, those new Admin features gots me all a flutter . Here is my question though and if I should have started a new thread with it, I apologize (bad things happen when one over-meds ). The upgrade docs refer to the UBB.Threads installation directory. Is there a specific name for that directory? Or can I assume (cough! ) that it is called ubb? Thanks as always, - GSH - Oh btw Gizmo, speak softly when talking about those UBB Developer lackies, they might converge together as a groupee and develop some sort of widgit to find out what a Gizmo really is .
