I'm trying to create a custom portal island to serve as an ad. It says that it accepts html but I can't get it to work. All I did was give it a name, cache time = 0, checked "Always Build" and in the body I replaced the code (which I don't understand) and inserted this:
<html> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1"> <title>Life of the Mind Conference</title> </head>
<body> <a href="http://www.apologetics.com/images/body/main/life_of_the_mind.gif"><img src="http://www.apologetics.com/images/body/main/life_of_the_mind.gif" alt="" name="ltm" width="400" height="225" border="0"></a> </body> </html>
I'm sure the code that I replaced had something to do with it. I'm just not a programmer and know basic html. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -Harry

You'll actually want it to contain this:
$body = <<<EOF
<a href="http://www.apologetics.com/images/body/main/life_of_the_mind.gif"><img src="http://www.apologetics.com/images/body/main/life_of_the_mind.gif" alt="" name="ltm" width="400" height="225" border="0"></a>
EOF;

Wow! Thanks for the quick response. It worked and I wouldn't have figured this one out myself.

Just a follow up. I noticed the Custom Portal Island 1 & 2 has some pre-written code that's different from the rest. Now as I was in the process of getting the custom islands to work I replaced those codes with the one above. Like I said, it worked. But out of curiosity, what features did I lose by not having those codes?

The ones that were in there by default were just samples from my testing. No loss from changing them.

Can someone please post a link to a post on your site that has a custom portal island in it so I can see what exactly it is?
Thank you

They can really contain anything... For example, here you can see the "Site Navigation" to the top left; on my UGN Security forums, ou can see "My Sponsors" for ad's
