Hej
I have made an installation of Ubb version 6.5.2, and have a question:

When I make a new post, and preview it, and then use the browsers back-button, the body and subject dissapears. How do I avoid this?

Don't use the back button. wink

Just joking.

Could be a caching issue maybe. What browser are you using? Is anyone else having this issue or just you so far?

Curious why you just made an install of 6.5.2, when both 7.2 and 6.5.5 are out...

But, this is a bug with the v6 series

Im using IE7, but I dont think its a browser related problem, because the posts doesnt dissapears in my old ubb 6.0.1. And yes, I got several users on my neck.

Not sure as I've not run it myself but Gizmo indicates in the above post that it may be a known bug and since it no longer has support for updates I doubt there is too much you can do unless there was a quick fix code hack for it around here somewhere.

Its a long story...

I am become webmaster of 3 ubbboards for a newspaper. 2 of the boards running 6.5.2. I first wants to upgrade my old 6.0.1 to 6.5.2 so all 3 boards are the same version. I will upgrade to version 7.2 later when I had fixed some issues.

I dont have the problem in my old 6.0.1

That why I started this thread smile It would be nice if anyone had a suggestion or a hack, instead of struggling with hardcoding.
.
Anyway, thanks for your replies. I will try work out some code to fix the problem.

Trust me, you'll want to upgrade everything to 6.5.5; reasoning you ask? There are SEVERAL HUGE security issues with prior versions... And I know, you'll say you haven't been hit by them yet, but trust me, eventually, you will...

At the very least, as has been stated, you'd want to upgrade to 6.5.5 so the security issues are fixed. As for the problem with hitting the back button. It's an issue with the way the forms are handled/created and the headers that are sent. No easy way to fix this in the 6.x versions without creating other problems.
