I know is not related to thread itself but I have question.

When I type convert -verion in my home directory I get a verion number back from ImageMagick so I know it's install on the server but when I ckick the dropdown box in threads configure it is not an option.

I look in the php.ini file and it has nothing pointing to it. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong or what I should check for?

You must enter the path to imagemagick in order for the option to display.

You can do this through:
CP -> Master Settings -> DB, Paths & URLs -> Paths & URLs Tab -> ImageMagick Settings

I added the path which I located using "locate mogrify" and it comes back /usr/local/bin which is what I put in the path. I can see the ImageMagick in the drop down list now too.

But, for some reason when I attempt to make a new user and enter the reg screen the CAPTCHA generator fails to make an image. Any guesses as to why?

convert -version

Path would be /usr/local/bin/mogrify /usr/local/bin/convert

One other question. Is there an advantage to using ImageMagick of GD2??
