femistyle journeyman F Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 57 Belgium	I'be added a new category, which does show up in the category settings page (/ubbthreads/admin/catmanage.php). However, it does not show up in the dropdown list (parent)when I add the forums for this category. What's wrong?

SD Former Developer Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 3,940 Likes: 1 SoCal, USA	you need to enable the forum(s) in that category and also give the appropriate user group(s) permissions to read thost forums. the default for a newly created forum is to NOT show up for even admins

So I open the dropdown box to define the parent, but my new category is not in that list. (some screenshots attached) Attachments

SD Former Developer Joined: Apr 2007 Posts: 3,940 Likes: 1 SoCal, USA	rebuild your cache.. so that the forum $tree can be regenerated.. if that doesn't work, then make sure your /cache dir is proper CHMOD to allow writing..

Gizmo Joined: Jun 2006 Posts: 16,299 Likes: 116 Portland, OR; USA	I had this issue several times, I ended up having to clear the cache manually (both the cache and the compiled templates; not sure which was the problem as I was irate at the point I had to go in and do manual adjustments) I am a Web Development Contractor, I do not work for UBBCentral. I have provided free User to User Support since the beginning of these support forums. Do you need Forum Install or Upgrade Services?
