On my old 6.5.5 I run a hack to remind all people to a birthday today. This script runs once a day over cron and generate a birthday posting in a selected board and send birthday greetings to the user. It would nice to have it in ubb7

A very good method to remind people of your forum, without being accused of spamming It always seems to be VB forums that all send me one on my birthday.

now, its time ... V7 is released and I need it like the old mod hack from Josh for V6.x
The old one was triggerd by cron and this is no longer needed with V7.

In 7.2 we have now an automatic e-mail sent to the user. What I miss is a feature to generate a posting in a selected forum. This was always a good start in my old board to bring some life in a board.

7.2.2 has a built in birthday email script, just FYI for anyone looking for it.

Where can I find that? And modify the text?

In 7.2.x - Control panel --> Feature Settings --> scroll to the bottom and tick the box - then update feature settings

To edit the wording of the message, you will need to alter...

/languages/*/cfrm.php

The two fields are at the end -
