I'm guessing it's not possible to attach images in a post reply, only link to an image? Will these be a feature in a later release?

If you turn on file attachments for the particular forum, then yes it's possible. You'll get the File Manager link while making a post where you can attach images/files.

Thanks Rick.
Under 'Feature Settings' I've added the 'Attachment Storage Directory', which does exist and has read write permissions but everytime I test it it says "Directory does not exist! Test failed. Either the directory was not found or cannot be written to by the web server." Any ideas what the problem might be?

Are you specifying the full path to the directory? You need to make sure it's the full path from the server root. It should look something like the PATH setting from the DB & Paths & URLs section of the control panel.

Yes, the full path is 'http://www.softrak.com/forumuploads/', I also tried 'http://www.softrak.com/forumuploads' no slash at the end. Neither worked. Our forum is located here: http://www.softrak.com/ubbthreads/ubbthreads.php

That is a URL (Full URL), and not a path (which would be say /home/yourusername/public_html/ubbthreads/attachments)

Hello, I am also trying to post images on my forum. Do you have to have a storage directory and if so does it have to be a specific name? This is the link to my board: http://www.getitlubed.com/forums/ubbthreads.phpThanks, Tracey

Yes you do need to have a storage directory created, permissions set, and the path to it set in the control panel.
No, it does not have to have a particular name. Uploads, Attachments, Fido, or Spot will all work.

They must be uploaded; "cut and paste" doesn't work with web browsers as the server does the uploading (not the browser).
