Hi guys, I just created a new forum on my site, but it's not appearing in the Forum Settings of the Control Panel. It is appearing on the public forum list though .. I can't even delete it. Need help fast. I'm on 7.2. Thanks for any help. Rose

Does this mean that nobody knows?

The forum I created has disappeared from the forum list page now, but I can't create a new forum. Now when I create a new one, nothing happens. I click "Submit Changes" and the new forum isn't listed.
Is there a limit to the amount of forums I can have?

The list in the control panel comes directly from the cache, while the list on the front page is dynamically generated. So, what it sounds like is your cache file isn't being updated.
I'd try to clear the cache via the control panel. If that doesn't do it, then you'll want to FTP into your server and delete all of the files from the cache directory, except for the index.html file, and then clear the cache again.

SD, I have eleven and a photo gallery with about 5 subforums. Rick, I'll try that and let you know. Thanks.

that's not many @ all -- and I forgot about what Rick mentions.. it's using $tree from the cache... i think the admin cpanel should rebuild the $tree each time you enter that section though as a general rule.. might be worth doing that for 7.3.1

Rick, that worked. I did have to do the FTP thing, but it worked great. Thanks so much!

I've had this happen a few times out of nowhere; just for note the resolve was to purge the cache manually.
