v7.3 (planning to upgrade)

As I see, when a moderator edits a user he can only see the groups (and thus add/remove users to/from it) that he himself is part of. Is this a bug or designed behaviour / specific to my install?

Thanks...

Designed behavior at this time. Your moderators can only add users to groups they belong to themselves.

Why would that be at this time and not always?
Do you intend to change so that Mods can modify other groups based on a deeper permissions setting and not require group membership in the future?

If enough people were to convince me then I'd consider it changing the way it functions wink

I'd like to propose finer perms in the cp to be set to tasks so we can assign mods specific tasks wink...

Sounds logic, but problem is, if I want somebody to be able to maintain all groups (including eg. a 'troublemakers' group) I have to make someone admin. Otherwise I would have to include him in eg the 'troublemakers' group or even a group that I allow access to a very private Forum. I understand that it WOULD allow him to edit his own group settings though...

I think assigning "group admins" would be welcomed by a lot. Not per se by a mod/admin, but also assigning a user to maintain a group.

I think I mentioned something like this in the area asking what new control panel features that should be added.

I've seen a mod for PHPBB which lets you add group moderators who can add people to a group; I've really enjoyed the feature when I got to use it wink... Makes delegating things a bit easier wink

Well these links sort of spell it out if you have time for reading. Other links that relate as well.
