Rick, et al I believe that this can be considered a continuation of the bug identified and apparently fixed in the thread we worked thru entitled 7.4.1. In Threaded Mode -- New Posts not Identified Now -- and I think it may have been this way all along since 7.4.1 was released if not before that -- when clicking on the "Mark All Read" button in the lower left corner, the system does not reach all the way down into the thread replies - in threaded mode. After marking all read you can see all the replies are correctly marked read in flat mode but then switch to threaded mode and the "new" post flag is proudly still flying on all replies that have not actually been read. Gets pretty confusing for users, especially after my loud announcement that the "threaded" problem was fixed Let me know if I need to add more verbiage for clarification. packlite

Hmm, this one I can't duplicate. Not sure if maybe one of my other changes fixed this.

Good....hopefully, then, the fix will be in 7.4.2
The problem still exists in this forum. To be sure, I just did the following test:
1. In FLAT MODE, "marked all read" 2. navigated to (a) FORUM: General Assistance (How Do I?) (b) THREAD: administrator permissions 3. ALL replies were correctly marked as read 4. changed to THREADED MODE 5. navigated to (a)(b) above 6. ALL replies were incorrectly marked NEW (not read) 7. switched back to FLAT MODE and all were still marked as read 8. switched back to THREADED MODE and all were still market NEW
This holds true for all forums, threads and replies.
The above is the same results that I'm getting on my forum.
thanks, packlite

Apparently, as I was posting my last post describing my test which confirms the problem, Rick upgraded the forum to 7.4.2 and the problem seems to have been corrected. Hopefully that's the case I can test on this board after we accumulate a few new posts

The system does now go to first unread post but in the process of fixing that problem, the "mark all read" doesn't work in threaded mode problem has resurfaced.

thanks, packlite okay, this problem has returned (Sunday am) following Rick's fix this morning of the system not going to the first unread msg. You can pick a thread here in the forums and run the above test and I think you'll see the problem.

This should be fixed again, without breaking what I broke before with the other fix. Confusing? Good
