Well, here at the University of New Mexico, Mitchell Hall (an all-classroom builiding built in 1950) is undergoing a major renovation. Once completed in December, it will have a new computer lab, new bathrooms, new HVAC, a new food mart, and of course, a new elevator. The current elevator there is a Dover hydraulic elevator that was installed in the 1970s. However, I have just learned that it will be replaced by a brand new KONE EcoSpace machine room-less (MRL) traction elevator, which uses 1/3 the energy of hydraulic.
So, I decided I should do a poll on your favorite elevator manufacturer. I personally like KONE as they seem to be the most advanced when it comes to new technology, and I like their down signal chime.

Otis is the only one I know Quite surprising, as Otis is the only brand most Americans have heard of, probably since Otis invented the passenger elevator and the fact they are an American company. Since you are from the UK, I thought you would have heard of the other three (KONE, Schindler, and ThyssenKrupp). KONE is from Finland, Schindler is from Switzerland, and ThssenKrupp is from Germany.

Did this thread really happen? What would we do without the Pink Jazz Polls?

I know all of them, but I voted for other. I don't know who made it, but the Pater Noster type elevators are my favorite
