An unusual disguise has helped a Bangkok fireman rescue an eight-year-old boy who had climbed on to a third-floor window ledge, Thai police say. The firefighter dressed up as the comic book superhero Spider-Man in order to coax the boy, who is autistic, from his dangerous perch. Police said teachers had alerted the fire station after the boy began crying and climbed out of a classroom window. It was reportedly his first day at the special needs school. Efforts by the teachers to convince the pupil back inside had failed, but a remark by his mother about his passion for comic superheroes prompted fireman Somchai Yoosabai to rush back to the station, where he kept a Spider-Man costume in his locker. The sight of Mr Yoosabai dressed as Spider-Man and holding a glass of juice for him, brought a big smile to the boy's face, and he promptly threw himself into the arms of his "superhero", police said. Mr Yoosabai normally uses the costume to liven up fire drills in schools.

If I saw some guy dressed like spiderman hanging around a school during a fire drill I'd think he was a pedophile trying to abduct a kid and I'd kick the ever loving crap out of him... That's just me though evidently...

At least that's a firefighting mascott of some sort, at least he looks kind of like one... well, looks more like he's wearing one of those "I'm a rainforest explorer" hats that's been painted yellow... lol...
Since when does spiderman become synonymous with fire-fighting though lol...

I don't see anything wrong with this. It is just what in in vogue with the children. You know if you capture their interest they pay attention. I would not be surprised to see a sponge bob squarepants firefighter somewhere in the world.

I have nothing to contribute to this discussion, though I want to point out that Gizzy has been correctly spelling bigger and bigger words for the last day or so. Synonymous? Though instead of tho, even! Gizzy, you've been gaming us all this time, haven't you?

Okay so now we start a word of the day item. I used to work with someone like that. He would look up multi- syllable words for replacement of simple words and then use them all day long. Every day he would use a new word.

WOW! That's weird. I have a driv costume. Never worked once though. Might go to the next level and upgrade it to the Ridley Scott Baby Alien suit (free slime included if you purchase before April). Irresistible.

I even tried ironing the driv suit but those wrinkles are so stubborn to get out. I think it's past its best now.

I even tried ironing the driv suit but those wrinkles are so stubborn to get out. I think it's past its best now. Well that's the problem; the wrinkles are part of the overall outfit...
