Just installed a new 7.5.3 site, and new users are getting the registration "Thank you for registering" email with the from address showing:

From: UnknownSender@UnknownDomain

So it gets dumped by their spam filters.

I cannot find what/where I need to change anything.

If I use the "Notify moderator" function, the email shows coming from the admin email address.

In my CP, Primary Settings, Advanced Options, Use specified SMTP Server, the field is blank. Should that be set?

Hmm, that's a bit odd since they both use the same mailer function. If you do something like request a temp password, does it come with the proper sender?

You can try setting an SMTP server to see if that changes anything. Should be able to find out the proper one to use from your webhost.

Well, I sure don't get it now... I just tried registering, and the mail came through just like the other email, with a proper From address.

Maybe someone at the hosting site tweaked something.
