UBB.threads PHP Forum Software Community Forums UBB.threads Version 7/8 Support Can't register new users

For some reason, I can't have new users register at our forums. They click on the Register Link and are taken to the Forum Rules page. They check the "box" and hit "proceed" but the page loops back on itself.

What could be causing this?

I'd run the Permission Check in the Control Panel, specifically looking at the Sessions Directory. Normally this means it can't save data to the sessions directory due to improper permissions.

Edit: it says this:

sessions (FAIL)


So what do I have to do?


folder on FTP for sessions is CHMOD 755

Under Tools & Info on the left hand menu, towards the bottom, you'll find the "Permission Checks" link.

You need to make sure the directory is writable. You can FTP into your site, and should be able to right click on the directory and change permissions (if you're on a linux host). You want to set the permissions on that directory to 777.

Great. Since while you're in there, you might want to check the other permissions as well just to be safe.
