Good morning everyone
Once again I need some help please. There is a problem child on my forum and for this person all post must be approved. Yesterday they created two post and everything appeared OK as Post Awaiting Approval said 2. When I went to approve them there was only one post, the one was approved, vanished from the Approve Post query and was visible to all. When I return to the control panel I am notified Post Awaiting Approval: 1 There is nothing to be approved.
I don't know what this poster did but the system had been working correctly until this. How can I fix it so this Post Awaiting Approval:1 is removed from the approval que and ensure no errors are created?
Thanks in advance for your help and have a fantastic day.
Jay

Did you approve the post through the control panel or by editing the post itself? How we proceed in diagnosing will depend on how you normally approve the posts.

Good morning Rick
Approval is always done through the control panel.

Ok, what I'd do is check your admin log. You should see an entry for APPROVE_POSTS and a list of posts that were approved. See if there are multiple entries, or a list of multiple posts instead of just one.
If both posts were in the approval queue at the same time, then it's possible that they were both checked so both were approved.

The Admin logs do show many entries for APPROVE_POST. What looks odd is that only one action APPROVE_POST has info in the description (of action) field. The one with info has a number which I assume relates to the approved post#. All other actions of APPROVE_POST are empty meaning there is no description (of action taken).
Any way...I am running version 7.5.3 and this is just another chance for me to learn and expand my knowledge. Thanks for your the lesson.

This is one area we need to clean up a bit so it's easier to understand. If no action is taken, or if the post is deleted instead of approved, it will be empty. We'll get this cleaned up for version 8 so it will show that posts were deleted as well, and not just what posts were approved.

Hey Rick, problem solved. It was user/administrator error that caused this problem.
The post was created in a forum which did not have permissions set for the Administrator to approve moderated post. Immediately when permissions were corrected the problem was solved.
I feel bad you jumped to help and its just a case of Newbie ignorance.
Thanks again for the help and have a great day.
