One of my moderators is taking a break. I am keeping her as a moderator for emergency reasons, but don't want her name showing up as moderator so people stop clicking on the name to send her PMs.
In the forum summary I turned off the "show forum moderators". But it's still showing up on individual threads.
Is there a way to just turn off that display globally or do I have to start hand editing files?

she'll either need to be a global moderator or you'll need to unstaff her until she comes back... otherwise mod's are listed as mods...

Lisa, if you figure a way, I'd be interested, too. I also have a moderator who is taking a break, and I would like him to be able to moderate occasionally, but without the headaches of the notification.

How about removing her from the moderator group, then creating a new group just for her and setting permissions for that group so she can do the relevant moderator tasks?

I think there are several things here.
She's quite willing to just ignore messages - so for me I wasn't worried about the email messages.
My only real aim here is to remove the moderator names from the bottom of the forum pages. When you unclick that "show forum moderators" it removes the names from the master forum listings. However, if I go to a given area, it still shows it at the bottom of the thread list.
So for example on this thread right here, underneath our posts, it shows Moderator: and a list of names. That is what I want to go away.

There are a few things you can do. Edit the template and comment out the section to show the names. Or if you want to do just hers write an if user id don't display statement. Had to do that a few years ago and it worked.

OK so for example near the bottom of showflat.tpl I made this change - {if $modlist && ($modlist != " ")} <div class="small"> {* ATTEMPT BY LISA TO REPRESS MOD LIST *} {* {$lang.USER_MOD}: {$modlist} *} </div> {/if} It does indeed remove the moderator list from the bottom of pages just like this one we're reading. But looking at the code, it's toggling on "$modlist". Where do I make that setting, so I can just turn that OFF and not have to hand edit code?

If you just don't want any name to appear: Control Panel ยป Display Options Primary [-]Forum Summary Options Deselect Show Forum Moderators?

Ruben, i'm pretty sure that disables mod listings everywhere; she wanted it removed from a specific area
